Hi again
I would not call this my best work, as a matter of fact I'm a little bit ashamed of this one. But I figured any kind of work is better than no work at all, so that is why I'm sharing this.
November 12, 2012 1:18am #750Hi again
I know I have been MIA for a week or two, but honestly I didn't want to return without a drawing of an environment, seeing as most of you have been requesting it. So to be extremely ordinary I did a river scene, enjoy:
November 1, 2012 9:12am #731I just wanted to inform you guys that today is international self-portrait day. I hope to see your submissions, here's mine:
October 31, 2012 9:59am #729Hi again
Kim, I realized that you were absolutely right, I haven't really been keeping to my pledge. With that in mind I tried to draw some environments and I can't say that it went well, however it is a step in the right direction
October 25, 2012 9:25am #692Hi again
@Vyse I think it's great that you have a goal in mind. One of the most empowering things I did when I started to draw was to tell myself; "you can do that"
By this I mean that my current skill level is not as good as what I aspire to be, but with work and a firm grip on my goal I will be able to make it. I still do this if I see something that is particularly awesome that I want to replicate. So good on you Vyse, You can definitely become that good, as long as you stick with it
here are a couple o 10 minute drawings I did with me most recent determination to work with color.

October 20, 2012 2:50pm #682Hi again.
Wow, there really is allot of text going on here. You could practically write a novel. Anyway, here is another piece of my daily practice:

October 19, 2012 4:53pm #678Hi again
Once again I tried my luck with drawing a portrait. It maybe true that I'm not really challenging myself here, but I figure that some practice is better than none at all
October 16, 2012 5:54am #674Hi El Bow
That is some upload. I honestly haven't read all of it, but what I read I agree with.
Anyway, As many of you know, I like to hone my skill by doing a daily 30 minute class from this website. Recently, however I have found myself not exactly challenged by what I'm doing, so I decided to bring it up a notch and add color.
These drawing are Done in photoshop with the brush tool and the color picker tool. the one on the top is a 5 minute sketch and the one on the bottom is a 10 minute sketch.

October 13, 2012 9:31am #670Hi again
one of the ways that I enjoy to keep my artistic skill up to date (and I believe that I have mentioned this), is to do a 30 minute class from this site. For me, 30 minutes is the perfect length for a quickie practice session. You don't get to frustrated and you stay lose. This was what I committed today:
October 12, 2012 8:04am #668hi again
one of the things I have mentioned doing to stay ahead is copy other artist styles. this is actually a good idea, as long as you don't go to far with it. if you play homage to n artist it is fine. Copy what they are doing once and make sure that people know that this is not your style. If you start claiming that this is your style that you came up with all on your own, you will have trouble. Not only because it is untrue, but because you will never live up to the origonal.
With that in mind, I did a bit of fanart, based of of the artist Tara mcPherson
October 10, 2012 10:11am #658Hi again
I decided that it would be a good idea today to try my luck at some different textures in photoshop. That is why I drew this entire piece with a square brush. I hope you like it
October 8, 2012 7:42pm #656Hi again
I just realized that it has been a while since anyone updated anything on this forum. I decided to remedy that, by doing a 30 minute class. I tried to record every step, to see what kind of progress that I have.
here it is:

PS. you might have to zoom in to see some of the 30 second ones
October 5, 2012 7:19am #652Hi there El Bow
I hope this is not presumptuous of me, but I would like to offer a bit of advice.
I can see that you are very fond of line art and that is the style you are going for. I would like to see you try and add more depth to you shadows and completely avoid the line art all together. I think your drawings are great, but if you add that extra bit of depth it could really enhance them.
The way that I like to add depth to my figure drawing pieces, is to start with a black transparent brush and then use the pressure sensor to add different shades of grey to the drawing. This was your whites become almost luminescent and you black very deep.
But that is just what I like to do.
With that out of the way, I would like to introduce you to the frozen tundra that I have drawn today:
October 4, 2012 3:58pm #650Hi again
I realized that I have been neglecting what I actually set out to draw on this forum. with that in mind I saw the most recent Wess Anderson movie (which I cannot remember the name of). This resulted in allot of time spend on this drawing:

being severely underwhelmed by that I drew this, which was just for fun:
