Done as part of a practice session with poses of 5 minutes in length. My current goal is: Improve my shading and rendering of light My goal for this session was to design good shadow shapes.

Excellent work and job, mgart, on your 5 minute shadows and lights. However, I've got a much, much, much, moreso smallest suggestion: I think your values will be more solid, exaggerated and appealing if you sketched out yet another pose, in 2 minutes. Why is that? Because your rendering of the shadings, will be more and more faster, and faster, and more, and more confident, and confident, yet slow and careful, just a little bit more. Hope it's extremely useful.

Shading is lots of fun! I would only suggest that you will find more powerful and interesting shadow shapes if you concentrate on the forms first. ie. if you want to turn the shadow shape around the external oblique area, think about what form the oblique is making. Is it a sphere, soft square, or cylinder? I think in this case, maybe a cylinder going back in space? Great start!
