Done as part of a 1 hour class. My current goal is: Better understand human anatomy, so I can render imagined poses

Hi Trstorey,

You really nailed the perspective here and proportions feel right, but it also feels like you are rushing it a little.

your lines are short scribbling lines that are nice and effective for laying some concepts from your head, and I hear that many animators use those. but for gesture drawings, they don't feel as nice and they defeat the purpose of the exercise which is to capture poses with few nice long lines.

I think it can help your growth if you try getting out of your comfort zone and try using big long C curved and S Curved lines that capture just the main and most important gestures of the body.

also, the shading lines are a little messy and distracting try using the same thing for your hatching, long individual lines that follow the form.

Well keep up the good work and stay safe.

Thanks, I appreciate the critique. I agree about my line quality. I am just getting back into figure drawing and drawing in general really and I find myself anxious to get stuff onto the page as quickly as possible, not accustomed to the pressure of the time limit. It's definitely a goal of mine to get my lines cleaner, more economical and expressive.

I ended up going into the shading to help define some of the form after I had "finished" the figure and still had a few seconds leftover, so naturally it ended up rushed and distracting. Will take some practice to get more useful value gestures.
