Hand Practice 9.12.21

Trying to get a feel for the form of the hand and proportions, while having a dynamic feel. I want to learn to draw quicker and with more emotion.

Way to go on your gestures, negative spaces and proportions of your hand, Diana.
My suggestion to help you refine this hand even further is that though your proportions are well articulated, but your gestures could be even more powerful and energetic. Would you please be able to loosen up your dominant and nondominant hands with 30 minutes of 2 minute digi warm-ups of hands and feet. (15 drawings)
The reason is, when you do this approach to reach your goal (if you've got one), then your proportions and angles of hands will become the least stiffest and the most fluidest and appealing.
Good luck to you and your current and future goals.

Why not try drawing more simple shapes, like children's blocks? It's a great exercise to help you focus on plains, proportion and solidity.
I know it is not as exciting as drawing the figure or hands and the like. But Visual art vegetables (Aka the basics) are invaluable.
Here's some I found helpful in my studies:
Studio Still Life Blocks
You can get them in much larger sizes, but I think these are superb for lots of art studio art needs.
Happy pigment trails.
All the best,
