Your contour lines for a beginner are very proficient! They could be made even stronger by varying line weight ( lines closer to the observer being thicker, those further thinner) I think you would also benefit from quickly drawing a line to represent the angle of the shoulders and hips, then proceeding to fill out volume of the subject
