Done as part of a practice session with poses of 2 minutes in length.

My current goal is: Improve my rendering of faces

You seem to be on a good path if you are focussing on bringing your own stylized drawing to faces. You are making the features (especially the eye area) quite large in comparison to the rest of the face/head. This may be what you are trying to achieve, if not, try comparing distances more often. Enjoy and do another bunch of these, then some more.

If you want more natural look, draw the face smaller. I mean compared to the whole head.

Good morning again, Payson, and welcome back to Line of Action (LOA). How are you doing this morning. Absolute job on your stylized caricatures of faces and expressions, Payson. Very great job on your rendering and sketching of your expressions. Keep up the great work.

Withal, I'm not getting enough of the gestural range of expressions of the faces and expressions. How would you like to lighten up your grips and lines with 1 hour of 1 minute (60 seconds) faces? As a result, your gestures of faces and expressions will be reduced from the stiffness, and to get more dynamicness, vitality and energy of the expression drawings. For more info, be sure to look into that Andrew Loomis book on faces and hands.

Hope this thing helps you out in the most helpful, supportive, and benefical way.

I'm seeing you play with different line weights and variations in style. Both are good things to experiment with. I think it might be helpful to focus on proportions as well. I'm not sure if it was an artistic choice or not on some of the faces, if it is awesome! Keep experimenting, if not it would help to give yourself a strong structural set up to map out the face and where things should land. Another excersise I do to help me with that is drawing the same face a few different times, sometimes it helps me pay attention to details differently.
