Hey Teberik,
Thank you for the suggestions about volume and structure!
I really appreciate it and I'll try to watch and try these when I practice.
Once again, thank you for the critique and I'll try to draw more from here :)
November 29, 2020 12:56pm #26447Hi Polyvios Animations,
Thanks for the feedback, and I'll try to do the 30 second poses the next time I do gesture drawings :)
I'll keep that in mind tomorrow when I do them.
Thank you!
November 29, 2020 11:11am #26445Hi Laitochris,
It is my first time critiquing, and I hope that I won't offend you.
Nice work on your figure drawings and good first step on drawing figures! I do like your proportions on the body.
It is just me assuming, but I see that you make the blocks of the body (head, torso, hips) first and then add the legs and arms?
I did look at your 30 second figures and maybe a small suggestion is that try to draw the figures first by starting with an action line.
By drawing an action line, you get get the "flow" of the body and the base of the action that the body is doing.
Here is the link to what an action line is : https://line-of-action.com/article/gesture-basics-1-line-of-action/
I use this technique as well, and drawing an action line for the shoulders helped me tremendously when drawing figures too.
Don't focus on trying to draw each essential part of the body, but rather on what the person in the photo is doing and express it more naturally.
I hope this helps, and keep drawing!
1November 29, 2020 10:29am #26444Hi everybody,
I did practice in figure drawing lately but I haven't posted them awhile on the website.
But I do want to share some of my gesture drawings and may I request a few critiques please?
I did 30 minutes on hands and feet, and 30 minutes on the figure drawings.
The charcoal ones are the 30 seconds and 1 minute ones, and pencil are 5 minutes and 10 minute ones.
I would very much appreciate your critiques and thank you for you time :)

May 18, 2020 5:44pm #25703Hello!
I did a 2 hour class on figure and a 5 minute each on hands and feet practice.
The first picture on the link to my tumblr is the 50 minutes one, and I was wondering how much detail do I need to do for a 50 minute figure drawing.
I very much appreciate the critiques and thank you for the last critiques also! It made me try to improve than before!

May 9, 2020 11:24pm #25664Hello!
I just got a question, as seen in the title above. I was wondering what was toning a ground...?
I did read the critiques from the figure drawings that I did 4 months ago, but I wasn't really sure what that meant and how to do it.
Thank you for anybody that clarifys and giving the time for the advice!

April 22, 2018 1:39pm #502Hello, I'm fairly new here and did about three class sessions on figure, hands and feet, and facial expressions practice. I would love to get advice with the class sessions that I have done, and would anybody please look over my work and see what I can improve on? Thank you!
