I'm a 31 year old programmer born into a very artistic and creative family, while I never seemed very good at grasping the art of design and creativity. I've always been very logical and structured, and until about when I was 25 years old, I couldn't draw more than stickfigures and very bad copycat art.
It all changed when I fell in love with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It inspired me to draw their characters, and I learned how structure and sketching worked, but I was still a newbie. The poses were always very stiff, they all had the same facial expression and there was very little room for experimentation because I didn't have any fundamentals to work from.
Long story short, 6 years later, I'm still trying to slowly learn the fundamentals, and how to draw essentially anything, starting with the human body which has always been my biggest challenge besides backgrounds.
