I was born in Birmingham, AL. I wanted to be an illustrator since I was very young, but was "guided" towards music school. I went to New York City right after high school, got two music degrees, then, sang and taught music in NYC for about 15 years. Then, I became a full time administrative assistant. Throughout that time, I continued to draw on my own. At some point, I married a lovely man who encouraged me to take lessons. I took some drawing lessons at Cooper Union. Then, I took classes at the Art Students League for ten years.I now live in upstate New York. I will be 58 in November of 2019. I've slowed down considerably at times, but have never stopped drawing. It's vital to my life. I no longer have access to live figure classes and am very thankful for the Line of Action website.
