10 Minutes

Done as part of a practice session with poses of 10 minutes in length.
The challenge here is learning how to break down an outdoor scene into the simple movements necessary for 10 minutes. The easy route would be to find a single element and spend 10 minutes on that. But that would defeat the purpose of my goals here.
My goal is to stretch my skills. I am very confident in my human figures, hands, feet, and portraits. I'm fairly confident in my animals.
Scenery is something I have always avoided, and even when I draw inanimate objects I take them out of the larger context and draw the single object.
So my focus here is to learn to take in the entire scene.
my goal is to learn how to find the simple gestures and movements that encompass a landscape in the same way that I can capture a face or a body in 10 minutes.

Good use of cross-hatching and lines. There is a lot of movement in this piece.
It's also good how you have those in the background with less detail than that in the foreground.
The river feels a bit heavy. Perhaps a few too many lines with it, but it's not extremely distracting.
I think you're doing well on your goals to view the whole picture. That's something I've struggled with a lot too. Keep up the good work.

I agree regarding the river, I got kind of stuck with it. Trying to figure out how to make it more river like and I think I overworked it.
That is the danger of pen.
There is no undoing what you have done. :D
