i agree on anatomy but limit this to like 30 minutes a day and it will be enough. anatomy is crap if you dont know how things look and feel. u can master anatomy but still be shit in drawing figures so draw study draw drawdardawradawr. hyper realists do not draw well from imagination or memory so just drawr daradawawdardaawdaaw from imagination references are enemies when practicing this muscel

very nice! its hard to see your timed drawings with your black outline so can not really critique them makes me wonder u are hiding sloppy lines? :D there are a few proportion problems with arms however on the sitting reclining woman with her chin to the sternum and maybe limit your stroke for each surface? very nice like said tho

Yes, Hi there. if you want to be better at drawing something from memory and imagination you have to start doing it. There is no way around it. Tutorials that go beyond basic structure and primitive shapes is a waste of time. Get a book on barge plates that show you how masters draw anatomy and try and mimic their results then draw from memory. Rince repeat, drawabox tutorial is a good one to start with if you are just starting out but it is really boring so dont stick to just that. One more thing, when you draw timed poses or other try and change the angle of themodel, it will train your brain to understand the volume and surface on a different level and will force you to draw with your brain and not with your eye. then draw draw draw draw draw.

Hey Torrilin, I agree and I fear the exact same dependance. But I mean why limit yourself? I've tried limiting myself to the round brush and get good results but why bother when I can get the same result in 1/3 of the time spent with custom brushes? If you're just aiming for personal achievement then it doesn't really matter but if you want a sustainable career professionally you better get dem brushes. I mean people even use 3d software and photobash more than they draw, it's hard to compete unless you get new "brushes". I guess you could see it as reinventing yourself, keeping yourself fresh. Why just stick to a round bristle when you can get all sorts of funky shapes? Just a thought! (ツ)_/¯

So lets say you want to build a house, you need a structure to put the drywall and tapestry ontop, that's basically what construction is. Boxes, cylinders and spheres where you put all the fat and tissue ontop.

Hey Swen dem figures appeals my senses. Not really a fan of the roughness tho, is it to emphasize the muscles in action? I'm a bit lost what drawing "force" really means and what sets it apart from all the other tutorial websites out there. Not trying to be rude or anything, just a n00b tryin to get dat knowledge and a lazy one at that. ( ◞・౪・)

@Sanne haha that really hit my funny bone. Will try to filter my humor as best as I can

@Bard I think if what you are going for is deliberate practice it isn't supposed to be easy, you don't have to make a photorealistic skeleton but it is good practice to make it look more like a real skeleton as time goes by. Also if you don't know where the muscles attach you will be forced to copy the contours of the reference. Give anatomy 5 or 10 minutes a day, you'll be surprised how much you remember in just a week.
