Getting Back in the Game: Face Studies 1-31-22

by Nere Kapiteni, February 1st 2022 © 2022 Nere Kapiteni
(From left to right) Two 5-minute face studies and one 10-minute study. Done as part of a 30 minute class. My current goal is: Improve my rendering of faces. Coming back to daily studies after two weeks on an illustration project + a week of no drawing at all (I know, I know). Feeling rusty and thought it'd be a total mess, but not as bad as I thought. Going to give myself two 30 minute sessions a day: one in the morning, one at night. Too much? I've begun doing the base in red/blue pencil. Feels better than jumping straight in with graphite.
Polyvios Animations
Hello and good morning, Nere Kapiteni. It's me, Polyvios. Say, I love how much of your economy of edges with gestures and forms of your faces and expressions are going. Way to go on those. So, in order to really get better faster at your expressions, do lower the time limit of 5 minutes to 4 minutes, 30 seconds, by 30 secs. Because, it can help you be the most comfortable with anything while focusing on the most important gestures and details. Otherwise, please do whatever or whichever else works best for you. Keep up the greatest work. Hope it's been really useful.
