The guidelines look really good and it's a great start, but id recommends trying to draw what you see and not what you think you see! try not to make it look the way you want it to and instead draw moire the way it actually is! That was a weird way of explaining it but I hope it makes sense.

looking up the loomis method for drawing head would be useful, and as mentioned earlier, try to imagine the head as a 3d object, not just flat on the screen
