Done as part of a 30 minute class. My current goal is: Better understand human anatomy, so I can render imagined poses

It looks like you're well on your way! As a way to continue studying in this vein, I find doing the same pose three times in different ways helps me. The first method is the same as what you did in class, a by sight sketch. The second is a direct trace over the reference image itself (I like to use a highlighter). The second sketch helps you view the proportions directly, and makes for an easier contrast between your first sketch and the second. You'll be surprised in the differences! For the third sketch, try drawing it again using only your own drawings as reference, starting with your line of action for fluidity. By that point your understanding of the pose and the energy of it will both lend to a really loose drawing! It can also feel pretty good to keep your previous studies aside to try again later so you can see how far you've progressed.

Maybe make the lines darker by pressing harder in the shadows? All the lines are mostly the same shade and by making certain spots darker and lighter you can really make the pose pop out more

I believe that your drawing is amazing and that you only have a little left to be a 100% pro artist! My only critique for this piece would be to maybe define your lines a bit more, so you can differentiate between shading and actual linework. Also, if you are focusing more on the body's anatomy and- literally- the 'line of action', try keeping the face out of the drawing so that you can focuz on a specific skill/ area of study.

Hope this helped! :)

Hello Ace! I would like to compliment you on how well you captured your subject. You did well on breaking the subject down into simpler shapes without loosing the original subject. On thing I would like to draw your attention too (hehehe pun) is the left leg. It seems to be a little long. If you where to draw that leg out straight next to the right one it would be longer. I would suggest cutting off some distance where the curve of the thigh mucsle ends and the knee. I hope I was able to help! keep up the good work!
